Glass Gel for Nail Extensions

Glass Gel for Nail Extensions is a polymer light-curing material designed for strengthening and extending natural nails. Thanks to its stained-glass effect, it creates a transparent, coloured coating with beautiful depth and a glass-like finish.

The intensity of the colour can be adjusted depending on the thickness of the application. A thin layer creates a translucent coloured veil, while a layer of up to 2 mm provides a more pronounced colour while maintaining the characteristic translucent glass effect.

Important Information

• Must be used together with a Rubber Base.
• The free edge must be at least 1 mm thick.
• Initial curing: 10–15 seconds, depending on the lamp power.
• Recommended curing wavelength: 365–405 nm.
• Recommended UV/LED lamp power: 36–48 W.
• Maximum material thickness per curing step: up to 2 mm.
• Full curing time: 120 seconds.
• If the material thickness exceeds 3 mm, work in two stages with intermediate curing.

Application Technique

Reinforcement

1. Remove the previous coating.
2. Do not file the nail shape, or leave up to 2 mm of length to be trimmed after levelling.
3. Gently file the nail plate with a 220-grit file, lifting any flakes from the nail plate, or use a 100-grit buffer.
4. Perform a manicure.
5. If using removers, wash your hands thoroughly with soap after use.
6. Degrease the nail using LUNAmoon Nail Prep in two passes. Use 4 wipes, with 1 wipe for every 5 fingers. First, wipe the nail surface. Then place a wipe onto an orange stick and thoroughly clean around the cuticle area and nail groove.
7. Apply primer if desired. If the base coat has sufficient acidity, primer is not necessary.
8. Apply LUNAmoon Rubber Base using a flat gel brush with rubbing motions. Fill all nail grooves and cure under the lamp for 60 seconds.
9. Remove the sticky layer.
10. Apply a levelling layer of Glass Gel, leaving a 0.5–1 mm gap from the cuticle. Cure under the lamp for 120 seconds.
11. After levelling, file and shape the nail. This is necessary to create sufficient thickness at the edge to support the free edge.
12. If the natural nail is thin, it may curl. File approximately 1 mm of the natural nail from the inside to help prevent the material from lifting. If the material is hard and the natural nail is very soft, the natural nail may begin to separate from the hard material at the free edge.
13. After filing, remove the sticky layer and thoroughly remove all dust.
14. Apply gel polish if desired.
15. Seal with a no-wipe top coat and cure for 120 seconds. Do not buff after curing to preserve the shine.

Classic Extensions

1. Remove the previous coating.
2. Trim the nail length to approximately 1 mm and shape it into a round shape.
3. Gently file the nail plate with a 220-grit file, lifting the cuticles, or use a 100-grit buffer.
4. Perform a manicure.
5. If using removers, wash your hands thoroughly with soap after use.
6. Degrease the nail using LUNAmoon Nail Prep in two passes. Use 4 wipes, with 1 wipe for every 5 fingers. First, wipe the nail surface. Then place a wipe onto an orange stick and thoroughly clean around the cuticle area and nail groove.
7. Apply LUNAmoon Primer.
8. Apply LUNAmoon Rubber Base using a flat gel brush with circular motions. Fill all nail grooves and cure under the lamp for 60 seconds.
9. Remove the sticky layer.
10. Place the nail form onto the free edge of the nail.
11. Apply Glass Gel to create the artificial nail extension. Cure briefly under the lamp for 30 seconds.
12. File the free edge and shape the nail as desired.
13. Remove the sticky layer and brush away all dust.
14. Reapply LUNAmoon Rubber Base to the areas where filing was performed. Cure for 60 seconds.
15. Smooth and shape the Glass Gel. Place the nail under the lamp and clamp at the 10–15 second mark. If the material is more tacky, clamp at approximately 20 seconds.
16. Complete curing for 120 seconds.
17. Remove the sticky layer before applying gel polish.
18. Apply gel polish as desired.
19. Apply a no-wipe top coat and cure for 120 seconds. Do not wipe after curing to preserve the shine.
